Lovely trail about a 20-30min drive from the middle of Henderson. It is easily accessible from the hwy with a very large sign indicating parking and the beginning of several loops and trails. I walked Mustang loop, which connected to a couple of other trails.
Free parking, restrooms, and bunches of trail options. Fairly mild hiking, doesn't require any special gear and passed folks biking. Very open landscape with some joshua trees, no escaping the wind nor sun/heat.
Plenty of parking. There’s a pit toilet. It’s clean but a wee bit smelly. Plenty of other riders around- seems like a pretty chill and friendly group of people. There’s access to a lot of trails. It’s a quick turn when you’re coming up on it from the east. Personally, I think a gift shop would be nice.
Excellent starting point for Red Rock Canyon trail system. Not as impressive as the trails near the visitor center but still worth checking out. Stone/gravel/dirt trails that weave through the high desert. There is a paved parking area with interpretive signs and restrooms.
