Confirmed from Le Mars Municipal Park Shelter House's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a pond for swimming, as well as a playground, trails and a campground.
What runners say about Le Mars Municipal Park Shelter House
“It was an incredibly clean and friendly place to camp, but it was completely inconvenient to have to walk to the bathrooms every night.”
Nice little walk around the swimming hole. We used to have a family reunion here ages ago. Beautiful
It was an incredibly clean and friendly place to camp, but it was completely inconvenient to have to walk to the bathrooms every night. The restrooms are a jaunt from where we stayed. It was not pleasant having to walk that far in the middle of the night for decent restrooms.
The pond is big with a walking trail and camping around it. There is about 40 camping spots. This was recently under construction and remodeled. Plenty of fish in the pond to fish for and tons of swimming is done here. The shelter house was also remodeled and it over looks the pond and camp ground.
First day here. It always rains when you go camping! And again, 2 yrs later, it rained right after we finished setting up! Otherwise, it's a nice park. Pond, playground ( under construction right now) trails and trains! Yes! The locomotive kind, which my son loves hearing, hopes to see, and collects all things trains!!
