Confirmed from Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Indoor exhibits & classes plus a vast outdoor space with oaks, gardens, an amphitheater & wildlife.

I was surprised by all the cool exhibits here. Definitely a great place to see stuffed examples of Iowa's native wildlife, quite a lot of variety. And an adorable little rescued owl they keep in the back. Plus a lot of trails close-by, with some stunning hilltop views. Will have to come here more often!
A hidden treasure! Well-maintained, interconnected set of trails of moderate difficulty paired w/ a central, well-designed, indoor nature/learning center. Very impressed. Options for a wide range of hikers, from little children to serious adults. Very nice!!
Great place to visit. Very nice inside and out. Cool kids play area outside and nice hiking trails.
Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center is a place I visit often to decompress. The building itself is beautiful with all kinds of exhibits ! I enjoy sitting outside and watching the great variety of birds that come to feed. Also has some great hiking trails that wildlife can usually be observed. VERY much worth a visit !!
