Confirmed from Lee Gulch Overlook's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lee Gulch Overlook

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (50 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The walking path under the sunset is very beautiful, with fresh air.”

I recently walked the trail from the Highline Canal trail to the Platte River. OMG! This is a beautiful city trail. The best city trail I have walked the the Denver Metro area. Lots of diverse views. Lots of benches for sitting and relaxing. About 90% unpaved which makes it easier on the knees and feet.

If you wanted to or walk to South Platte it is probably the best parking lot I have never seen it full

★★★★☆ — Fred , Jun 2019

I broke down near there and coasted. Nice little "secret" trailhead. Even has a drinking fountain!

★★★★★ — Daniel , Mar 2021

Nice area to embark from. The trail is a lot more bicycle friendly than pedestrian in my opinion. Some gravel to walk on if you don’t wanna take your chances with the two wheeled folks speeding past. There are several places to fork off to choose your own adventure.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 11 mentions

“Off of the busy bike & waljing path, overlooking a beaver pond filled with wildlife and view of the Platte River and Mary Carter Greenway.”
