Confirmed from Writers Vista Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Writers Vista Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (350 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“This is a small park but nicely kept up and clean.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“There are multiple paths you can walk on and gorgeous view of the mountains while the kids play.”

This park has it all. Hiking/walking trails (right next to the Highline Canal Trail). The day we came, we were the only ones at the park. It was very quiet and peaceful. The kids loved the play structures at this one.

★★★★★ — Jaime , Jul 2024

Absolutely stunning view. I'm jealous the kids get to climb all the way up the awesome play structure and have safe birds eye view of the scenery of the lake and the gorgeous mountain range behind it.

We had fun here. The path goes into an area that is residential and ends near some condos or townhomes. There was a pavilion that looked like a baby shower was happening there. Playground. Nice big field if you wanna throw a frisbee to a dog or kick a ball around.

★★★★☆ — A , Jul 2025

Super great park! Lots of open space. Great views of the mountains. View over the lake but no access to the water. Playground is relatively new and very fun. I wish the music features actually made music sounds. Just makes clunky thuds. Oh well. Lots of parking across the street by the bike trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
