Confirmed from New York Brigade Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about New York Brigade Trail Head
“Did the Grand Loop Trail and some of the blue trail and they were well marked, well maintained and easy to trek on.”
Loved hiking at Jockey Hollow today. The trails are moderately challenging because of the changes in elevation, not the terrain. Most trails are grassy & worn, although some spots were pretty wet. I don't know if that was weather, or the creek that runs throughout the area.
Did the Grand Loop Trail and some of the blue trail and they were well marked, well maintained and easy to trek on. I hardly had to look at my phone for guidance. There weren't many bugs aside from some gnats flying around me.
The site of the encampment of the New York Brigade during the Jockey Hollow encampment of the Continental Army. There is no remaining trace of the encampment as it was farmed over in the 19th century. Great hiking trails however.
This was an enjoyable four mile hike / walk with a nice overlook along the way. Enjoyed the historical information associated with the walk and the woodlands are pretty though no landscape or geographical artifacts of note.
