This recreation park is just fantastic. There are four unique areas amongst the whole park system. There is the Tinkers Creek State Nature Preserve, Tinkers Creek Area, Pond Brook Conservation Area and the Ledge Area. In the Ledges Area there is also the Nature Center.
The ledges trail is a maze of unmarked trails until you find the loop then it is well marked. A 1.2 mile trail with only a third of ledges and another third of it is a boardwalk. The glacier cave was a cool little spot. We enjoyed the short hike with 2 kids and or dog.
We took the glacier cave trail, and loved every step we took. We went when it was raining and the calming sounds of the rain drops hitting all the leaves was so relaxing. The rain brought out so many beautiful colors in the rocks. The living skin glisten.
We grew up in the area and had no idea there were such stunning ledges and rock formations here! This is comparable to Nelson Ledges and Virginia Kendall. Requires a little hiking but well worth it! It has many amenities. Plenty of parking, modernized restrooms, sitting areas, a nature center and shelter too!
