Confirmed from Limestone Gorge Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Limestone Gorge Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (217 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 14 mentions

“Other than that this is a beautiful trailhead that is located at the top of the gorge.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Beautiful quiet serene place to take a break from the busy day.”

Limestone Gorge trail was a pretty little scenic hike. Took quite a bit longer than the 28 minutes suggested. I believe the wet slippery terrain on the day that I was there contributed to that. I would love to come back and see the whole park. It is a beautiful place well maintained.

Took my 2 year old and 7 year old on this trail. 7 year old is experienced with trails and it was fairly easy for her. 2 year old is typically in a carrier, but did walk about half the trail with assistance. It was a lot of fun for the kids and some beautiful scenery.

We found our way here one day just out for a drive and we were not disappointed!! This place is beautiful! Tons on trails, peaceful and definitely worth it!

Great trail, it is more difficult than the other trails in the park. It has some slanted parts and some inclines that may be hard for some people. Walking stick recommended! The scenery is very nice, as it is with all the trails in the parklands!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
