Confirmed from Little Bay Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“Little Bay Park is a hidden gem that offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere.”

We had an office clean-up event here. It's a nice place to walk, stroll, bike ride, bring the kids, the dog or fly a kite. We were by the water and had a nice view of the bridge. It's kept clean and I saw some areas where pretty flowers were starting to bloom. It has a great big parking lot too.

Little Bay Park is a hidden gem that offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere. The vistas are simply breathtaking, making it the perfect backdrop for a romantic date or a peaceful evening stroll. At night, the park transforms into an even more enchanting spot, with the city lights twinkling in the distance.

I really like this place. Great park to picnic on the long Island sound by the water. There's a walking/ jogging/ biking trail that runs between the sound and the cross island parkway. I usually stop and do some stone balancing. Very therapeutic.

What can i say other than beautiful walk/run/skate/bike trail by the ocean. Lots of families walk around here and lots of ppl walk here with their dogs or come here for a date spot. There are a couple benches but not tables so can only eat finger food around here. Best views by far around the area

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 22 mentions

“Only current issue is the view from the benches overlooking the sound, is obstructed by overgrowth.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
