Visited a year later, and love this trailhead. Easily accessible in the Mount Vernon area. Get there early for a parking space, and wear comfortable boots or hiking shoes. The signage for the trailhead were plentiful. I opted to follow the Cairn trail to the LaZboy trail and the views didn't disappoint.
Nice park with various easy trails. Save a pic of the map just in case because there's a lot of overlapping trails. The viewpoints are nice, you can drive to them if you don't want to hike. It's very unfortunate that people decided to vandalize the arch.
Hiked nature’s trail + lazy boy. Looping back to the trailhead rewarded with a scenic swamp view. Bobcat, possum, eagle. Beautiful breezy day in Mid-January
Just a short distance off the main road and had to stop to get a picture of the frozen water with the cat tail. There's only enough room for a few vehicles so if it's full you're out of luck. We walked the trail a little ways past the bridge and it was beautiful.
