We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Little Mountain Park South Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Little Mountain Park South Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (31 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

If this is your first time using this lot, a couple things to keep in mind: 1. Only ties into the Down South trail, which will get you to the other trails, but it's all uphill right off the bat. 2.

★★★★★ — Ryan , Feb 2022

Beautiful hike, if you aren't mildly in shape you will get tired. The trails are easy if you take the more gradual path.

★★★★★ — Natalya , Jul 2020

This hike is beautiful! Starting at the South trailhead (archery range) it took about 2 hours and was 3.5 miles to and from the North Viewpoint. There are various paths and shortcuts along the way. It's pretty steep in some places, but not too bad, ascension was worse, and hard on my knees.

★★★★★ — Holly , May 2025

Getting to the top from here takes some effort as some of the trails have some steep sections. Nonetheless a very nice area to hike that is close in.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
