We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Little Presque Isle Day Use Area yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

One of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited! Serene and enchanting with very well groomed hiking trails. A very nice sandy beach, at least 2 miles long. This place is great for swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking as long as the wind is cooperating. The water is crystal clear.

One of my favorite places. The water is pristine, the sand is soft, and you can walk through shallow water to the island. There are wooded trails that lead you to other beaches of the peninsula. Gorgeous place and dog friendly.

★★★★★ — Andy , Jul 2025

Quiet and off the beaten path from the more touristy spots of Marquette. Still easy to get to and the views and scenery are worth the drive. If you’re heading out this way make sure to hit sugarloaf mountain to build up a good sweat before little Presque and cool off in the water.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
