Confirmed from NTN North Trails 550 Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trail-dotted nature area for hiking and biking, plus scenic vistas of the Dead River.
What runners say about NTN North Trails 550 Trailhead
“I went for cross country skiing and the classic trails were well groomed and the scenery was beautiful.”
“I couldn't believe how well marked and crafted these trails are.”
Some of the best trails in Michigan. Miles and miles of well maintained and marked trails. Beautiful scenery and landmarks to check out. We had a great time exploring the North and South Trails over the weekend and can't wait to go back and do it again.
Excellent trails, some of the best in Michigan. I had a great time riding this area.
Upsetting to say the least. I cried multiple times on the adventure due to the dead squirrel I saw on the trail. How could someone just let him die like that? I tried performing CPR on the poor guy but alas, I was much too late. My wife kept complaining about my crying fits but, what can you do?
I couldn't believe how well marked and crafted these trails are. They are obviously intended for mountain biking but hikers can enjoy them just as well. Lots of great single track and some double track. Huge variation in both elevation and types of runs. I'm so thoroughly impressed.

- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
