Confirmed from Little Soddy Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“This place is stunning, you just have to know where to look!”

This is about a 5 mile segment of the Cumberland Trail and I would rate it as easy to moderate. I love the stone door that you pass through within the first mile of your hike leaving from the trailhead on Mowbray Pike and if you research the area before the hike you'll learn something about the old coal mines of the…

Great hike, the trailhead was a little hard to find. Park at corner of Sluder Ln and Hotwater Rd.

The section I was on was only about a mile in length and u have the choice of doubling back to the trailhead or walking back on the road. The trail continues on across the road. There is also a trail split and the other trail goes to Mowbray (4.2 miles). This trail is alongside a creek that has a nice waterfall on it.

It's a fun little trail that leads ti some really nice views and if your a bit of an amateur naturalist there are plenty of neat flora and fauna to keep you busy. If you have kids there are plenty of little pools where they can try their hand at catching crayfish

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
