Confirmed from Lock 8 Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed, well-kept park featuring picnic tables, a lock and a bike trail.
What runners say about Lock 8 Park
“Just be sure to clean up after 1s self, we got to keep our gems beautiful.”
“It's peaceful, beautiful & few people go here and the people that do go here are respectful.”
“Very nice place to relax and if you want to fish, fish I personally don't but very nice very peaceful and free”
Scenic park with picnic tables, fishing, and toilet right on the bike path.
I grew up in this area and I have to say this is one of those places where it is a nice simple pleasure to visit. You can fish, watch the different boats come through, have a little picnic or just enjoy a nice walk around.
A quiet wall tie up for boats, on the top side of Lock E8. Grass & trees, no facilities? Close to the bike path which was surprisingly busy. Yes you can hear the vehicle traffic on the busy road but it quieted down later on & we didn't hear anything overnight. Occasional train noise but not at night.
Spectacular view and the trail offers multiple parks for picnicking alongside the water. For bicycling the trail is mostly flat with a bit of an incline in several places. It also offered a couple of interesting historical markers.
