Confirmed from Lock 8 Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I grew up in this area and I have to say this is one of those places where it is a nice simple pleasure to visit. You can fish, watch the different boats come through, have a little picnic or just enjoy a nice walk around.

★★★★★ — Grant , Jun 2019

A quiet wall tie up for boats, on the top side of Lock E8. Grass & trees, no facilities? Close to the bike path which was surprisingly busy. Yes you can hear the vehicle traffic on the busy road but it quieted down later on & we didn't hear anything overnight. Occasional train noise but not at night.

★★★★★ — Joanne , Aug 2023

Spectacular view and the trail offers multiple parks for picnicking alongside the water. For bicycling the trail is mostly flat with a bit of an incline in several places. It also offered a couple of interesting historical markers.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
