At sunrise it is so quiet and peaceful. As the sun comes up motorcycles buzz the winding road nearby. If you cross the street you will be taken towards the main Lonestar Hiking trail that runs 92Miles up into Sam Houston National forest. This part of the trail is the Little Lake Creek Wilderness.
Alright, so you do have to go through what I call Spider Alley, which is the whole first mile or so of the hike. That's turning right out of the parking lot. I saw MANY spiders, and had to dodge lots of webs. But after the second time you cross Hidden Forest Dr, the trail is very beautiful and fun.
Beautiful pines and other flora. The trail was very peaceful and well maintained. I knocked a star off because it was quite muddy, and there were numerous "underground cable" markers along one stretch of the trail, which took away from the feeling of being in the wilderness.
This place is awesome with lot's of parking and hiking trails with over night camping and more what a great place to get away from it all
