Confirmed from Lost Hill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The natural setting is beautiful in a subtle way, and it’s a great place to slow down, clear your mind, and enjoy the outdoors without distractions.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Much of the trail at the start does not offer shade or much else, but less than a half mile in you start to see more trees, streams, and animals.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 9 mentions

“Lost Hill Park is peaceful and scenic, with unique farm ruins, limestone creek beds, and beautiful trails perfect for exploring nature.”

This place was recommended to me by a friend. My dog and I had a very nice time there! There is a little creek just deep enough for her to swim in; there were lots of kids with their families playing in the water as well. There is a trail to walk, as well as a picnic area by the parking lot.

Absolutely gorgeous area full of wildlife and adventure. Much of the trail at the start does not offer shade or much else, but less than a half mile in you start to see more trees, streams, and animals. I only hiked about a mile worth of the trail. I'd say I just started getting to the good part.

Usually go here to ride bikes or run the paved paths. Today we took the RC cars to play on the rocks in the creek bed. Although it was 40 degrees out we still had a good time. Less than 2 miles from my house so it's convenient. Quick escape from the feel of the city.

Very cool park that meets up with the Greenway trail. A little light on amenities, but over the top with scenery. There are chemical toilets, a swingset, and a few barbecue grills and picnic tables.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
