Confirmed from Lowell Riverfront Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Popular with bird watchers, this 1.75-mi. multi-use paved trail also offers mountain views.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 17 mentions

“Small area of grass, mostly scenic walking along the river, parking lot is gravel but flat, grass gets really long before getting mowed.”

This is a great trail to walk along the river. There are lots of spots to stop and sit and they even have a new dog park/run. There was families walking and it feels very calming. There is plenty of parking as well.

Great park, with good access to the paved trails. There are resting areas if you need a quick break from a walk. The scenery is beautiful, and once a year you will even see some salmon jumping when they spawn up river. Caution the cliff edge is steep and soft, highly recommend staying on the trails and public areas.

Love this trail especially early in the morning when the fog is still down in the valley so peaceful and beautiful. It's a great place to take your dog or just yourself for an early morning walk/jog to catch the sunrise.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
