We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Loyalsock Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Loyalsock Trailhead
Backpacked the Loyalsock from High Knob to World's End a few years ago. Defiantly one of the most memorable hikes I've done in PA, but there is some fairly steep terrain.
The creek pics are taken right across the street from trailhead parking. Very muddy on this 50° day in January, but it was a great day for a hike!
First mile of the trail is nearly straight up. Not for those looking for a “stroll” in the Park.
I offer a shuttle service for hikers on the Loyalsock Trail and OLP and the MidState Trail
Trail conditions & character
“X miles require a lot of exertion that is jettisoned in a descent to near starting elevation with nothing but pride to show for it.”
“The creek pics are taken right across the street from trailhead parking.”
“From the small streams with their many mini waterfalls.”
