Confirmed from Short Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxing park with a pool, a playground and picnic shelters.
What runners say about Short Park
“Also, the spectacular Christmas display and lighted walking course are top notch holiday spirit for all ages.”
One of the top parks of the greater Williamsport metropolitan area, and the top 3 by distance from Williamsport city central. The creek running north to south parallel to the park is what makes this a top choice.
A beautifully maintained community park. This place is a wonderful location next to the stream and is a relaxing oasis on the edge of town to take the kids to play in the playground, go swimming in the large pool, or go for a short walk.
What a cool park! They had a nice walking path that ran along a stream. Clean picnic facilities. New jungle gyms for the kids and the neighborhood Pool is right next door! Great little family park!
Lots of climbing, sliding, & swinging to be done, all in a layer of cushion if a fall were to be made. Benches & shaded area for sitting.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
