Confirmed from Lyonia Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lyonia Preserve
“You miss out on the gorgeous black line of a burn here that you would be able to see in parks managed with fire (the most desirable scenario).”
“It's a little confusing at first as the Blue Trail is not well marked at the beginning but you'll eventually find it and that is the longer Trail.”
“Amazing, peaceful, and worth every bit of a trail.”
“Well kept, easy walk with just the right amount of challenge to make for a good workout.”
When I got there, it was raining, so it felt like I was in a wild rainforest. The view was so remarkable and ethereal. I think this is my favorite hiking in all of America so far. Though I may never come here since I live 17 hours away from here. But I will never forget this beautiful and heavenly place and views.
Wonderful place to go for a walk and be with nature. If you haven't experienced seeing the Florida Scrub Jay, this is the place. There is a huge variety of other birds, and you may even see Coyotes or even a bobcat family on your walk.
I go to this trail almost weekly. Well kept, easy walk with just the right amount of challenge to make for a good workout. Only issue - when the weather is humid or it rains, you can feel the heat rise from the sand.
Wonderful experience!! Recommended 100% it's a very large reserve with ap lot of trails...here you can see a lot of wildlife in there natural habitat....a lo of bird species, bobcats...etc...etc...I was amazed by the Florida Scrub Jays...those are such of an amazing species...
Trail conditions & character
“Going in the middle of the day is a bit hot so make sure you bring a lot of water but the views are great and there was a breeze the whole time!”
“It’s definitely best to visit during cooler weather because of the elevation changes, limited to no shade, and sugar sand that can be quite a workout to tread through.”
“Amazing, peaceful, and worth every bit of a trail.”
“It's a little confusing at first as the Blue Trail is not well marked at the beginning but you'll eventually find it and that is the longer Trail.”
