Confirmed from Lyonia Preserve Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lyonia Preserve Trail Head
“Beautiful and well maintained trails!”
“Some areas aren't very shaded, so plan around that.”
“The trails are clean and marked super easy to follow and they're dog friendly 🐕🦺”
Great trail but they honestly need to do a better job on putting more signs showing where the trail is. Coming the from the parking lot of the library you get to a green pavilion and there's two directions you can go, left or right or back.
Great educational indoor area with live animals! The trails are clean and marked super easy to follow and they're dog friendly 🐕🦺
We LOVE Lyonia, and the trail is always nice when it isn’t blazing hot out. There isn’t any shade so plan accordingly. Be aware- they strictly enforce the no dogs rule. We were chasing toddlers and didn’t see the sign but security sure let us know. lol
We took the trail in search of geos. We had a great time in the cool weather and finally found what we were looking for. 😀

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
