Confirmed from Máyyan 'Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is so colorful Coyote Ridge a newly protected open space preserve and it opened only 3 weekends per year. My first time came up here in early spring,(3/14/2021). I had to show the ticket before I enter the trailhead. They are asking all visitors to disinfect their shoes before hiking.

I really enjoyed hiking in Coyote Ridge. The preserve is only open at present for special events and we needed to reserve (no cost) for a parking space. We went there for seeing wildflowers and saw some nice blooms along the trail.

Such a beautiful space. Great new trail that will challenge you on the uphill but reward you with fabulous views and a peaceful quiet punctuated by meadowlarks and horned larks singing. Protected area for endangered plants and butterfly so be sure to get your free butterfly pass before going. And FOLLOW the RULES.

Enjoyed Public Access Day, which they have about 2-3 weeks every year, which can occur in March of April. Beautiful views of Santa Clara County, along with seeing the wildflower blooms! Recommendations: ⭐️Hike Counterclockwise if you want to hike the steepest section uphill, and it’s first.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
