Confirmed from Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Visited twice in one week in January 2024. I really like this place - it’s easily accessible from the freeway, yet after a few minutes of hiking, you feel you’re in some classic California backcountry.
I hiked here today and had such a wonderful experience. The scenery is wide open and calming, and the views of the valley are gorgeous. It’s the perfect place for a 2-hour loop hike, long enough to feel like an adventure but not overwhelming.
Just did a hike at Coyote Valley Open Space Reserve and wow, what a cool change of pace! This place is a hidden gem for anyone looking to swap city noise for some nature vibes. The trails here are super well-maintained.
Great hiking loop, easy to find parking lot, 4 miles round trip, gradually climbed up hill for the first halfway and all down hill for another half. Awesome view of the valley, easy hike for everyone, very peaceful, I love this trail, nice for work out... I will come back.
