Confirmed from MacArthur Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed riverside park with picnic tables, a boat launch and access for kayakers and canoers.
What runners say about MacArthur Park
“When random men are hangjng around, this is nice park to walk the dog.”
Favored park in this area for a dog walk, and general river walk. Like the boardwalk feel and how it meanders through Mount Clemens.
Quaint little park close to downtown. The boardwalk was pretty nice, too.
It’s a lovely spot for a walk, though it clearly needs some attention. I’d love to see the woodwork refurbished and more benches added for people to rest. Of course, I understand that such updates depend on city funding, but the potential here is undeniable.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
