Confirmed from Magpie Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Magpie Forest

Beautiful, has an amazing sunset/sunrise view. Has great trails and a great spot at the end of the trails for playing fetch, but beware of ticks. I like to take my cat on walks here when I want to risk the ticks.
Magpie Forest is native Palouse Prairie, one of the most endangered ecosystems in the continental US. It's owned by WSU and shows what the Palouse looked like before it was developed for agriculture. There are some nice walking trails through here and you can watch the sunset from benches.
I didn't know about this little gem before today! It was a beautiful little walk and I was surprised by how quiet and secluded it was considering it is so close to an apartment complex! I love that it is an area in it's natural state and is considered a protected wildlife area.
Beautiful hills Views from this place but the place needs to be upgraded to get more visitors

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
