Confirmed from Martin's Peak Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Martin's Peak Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (54 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“You do need to take the Heavenly gondola up to access this trail, which is expensive but worth it to do at least once for the great views.”

Beautiful short hike from the observation deck at Heavenly. You had to climb a few rocks to get to it. It was a beautiful view for sure!

★★★★★ — Dr , Aug 2022

Nice short hike. Trail begins behind the lookout platform for the Heavenly Gondola. Hike is 0.2 miles and ends at Martin's Peak. Nice view of the lake if you want to climb the rocks to the top.

★★★★☆ — Katherine , Jul 2022

Had a great time on Martin's trail. The views of Heavenly and Lake Tahoe are incredible. You do need to take the Heavenly gondola up to access this trail, which is expensive but worth it to do at least once for the great views.

Trail wasn't open during winter. But did take gondola ride up. Well worth it for the views of the lake. Just amazingly beautiful!!!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 24 mentions

“It's a fast and beautiful ride and has a stopover work it's just breathtaking views.”
