Confirmed from Massapequa Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Massapequa Trail
Nice photo and fishing (permits needed) available trail side. We have walked this trail from Merrick Rd, Massapequa, all the way to Plainview, by the LIE. We will be taking our wedding photos here by Massapequa Train station and Brady Park.🤳📸
There’s something wonderfully special about visiting Massapequa Preserve with my dog Piper, my wife, and our kids—every time, it’s consistently magical. We come here often, sometimes walking one mile, sometimes circling around for three; no matter the distance, it’s always a refreshing escape.
A lovely and scenic venue to walk around. And if you're into photography, take pictures of the water and the wildlife enjoying it.
Super great place to walk, bike or rooler skate. Itd has a long path to have fun, thete is also a lake (pond) witch you can also fish. Thete its no lights in the psrk, so make sure to ve before sun down and to have eboght time of light. Please keep the parks clean, we all want to enjoy it.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
