Confirmed from McDonough Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a wonderful park on the outskirts of Parkersburg, WV. The trails are lovely and maintained and there are several to chose from for different fitness levels or hike preferences. It is also kept very clean. My boyfriend and I love to come and hike here and looked for mushrooms.

Several good trails, easy to moderate. Lots of rain lately, so the trails were pretty muddy. Easy access. Lots of parking. One paved trail: 3X=1 mile.

★★★★☆ — Kolin , Dec 2018

I love hiking here! There are plenty of trails go get some miles I and it is super close to home. I always feel safe and the trails are marked well. They have a flat track to walk on and the facilities are nice. This is a very nice park!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
