We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of McLaw's Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about McLaw's Trail
“Beautiful countryside, important tactically to the battle of Chancellorsville.”
“Such a beautiful and serene trail.”
Short 1 mile hike through cornfields and rolling hills. Maps provided to understand what happened ok this hallowed ground.
Such a beautiful and serene trail. I came here one morning around 6:30 and it was very quiet and peaceful. The trail was grass but it was firm so I didn’t have to worry about mud. It is extremely well kept and has become one of my new favorite spots to walk - 10/10 recommend!
Love this place. It's like a little slice of heaven on earth. So close but yet so far away to get out and walk the trails
Beautiful countryside, important tactically to the battle of Chancellorsville. Make sure you take the trail brochure with you and read it at the stops. I'm so glad this historic landscape has been preserved, wish the trail was a little longer.
