Confirmed from Terminus of Virginia Railway Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space offering paved and unpaved trails, plus a creek for dog swimming.
What runners say about Terminus of Virginia Railway Trail
“Well maintained however, I wish it connected to the other half that starts near Alum Springs Pk.”
“Simple yet beautiful trail - definitely some points where it'd be kind of scary if I had a dog with me!”
Nice, clean, and safe trail. If you are in Frederickburg I recommend this trail very quiet and beautiful view of the little creek..
A previous comment said closest legal parking was at Alum Springs Pk. That’s not true. You can park at Harrison Road Pk. Really nice trail. Well maintained however, I wish it connected to the other half that starts near Alum Springs Pk.
Beautiful park, easy to moderate trails. Watch out for spiderweb if you go deep into the woods. Restrooms on site. Paved and unpaved trails here. You can walk or hike as long as you wish with extended trails. Loud, highway right next door. Playing area for kids, pavilions for parties, and flowing river, no fish.
My daughter and I have always loved exploring the trails in that area. We start in Alum Springs Park and go wild.
