Confirmed from McLean Game Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Excellent location for nice, easy walks in the woods and picnics.”

4.2.22 I love the unique terrain and the multitude of different trees. If you like to take photos then you'll enjoy this hike. This has many hiking trails and it's easy to get lost. Our trails were dry and some spots had many leaves.

A wonderful spot for a hike and a chance to commune with nature. You can choose easy or more challenging trails to suit your needs or desires! Hope you can get out and enjoy Mother Nature! This is a great spot to do it!

★★★★★ — Maura , Oct 2024

McLean Game Refuge is a great hiking location for all experience levels. There are wider, flat paths, as well as more heavily wooded trails that can be taken. This is a beautiful area to hike with multiple ponds, streams, brooks. The trails are well marked and maintained.

★★★★★ — Eric , Sep 2020

Nice area to walk and very quite. They had indicators search different trails specifying different mile each trail was. Unfortunately none of the trails were color coded to the signs. So you didn't know which Trails you were taking through your walk

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
