This places is excellent to enjoy different kinds of activities: we have done canoeing, hiking, snowshoeing, grilling, picnicking, playing bocce, sledding, picking blackberries and we had always had a great time. For hiking there’s plenty of trail to explore, all very good.
This past weekend, we packed up the car for a family trip to Mendon Ponds Park, a hidden gem nestled just outside of Rochester. It’s one of those places that combines the beauty of nature with a little bit of wonder for everyone, and we were excited to explore it with our boys and their cousins.
For any outdoor enthusiast, Mendon Ponds has you covered across all seasons. Cyclists and skaters can enjoy a ride along looping roads, self selecting difficulty levels. Trails here are well maintained and expansive-showing off the diverse landscaping of the park.
Excellent place to learn about the environment and how glacial flows sculpted the landscape in the fingerlakes. Great trails, well groomed and easy walking. One of the top places around to see and enjoy the outdoors. Wintertime in the morning is the best time to feed the birds by hand.
