Confirmed from Mercerdale Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Chill, tree-covered trails with open space, picnic & play areas, plus summer & music festivals.
What runners say about Mercerdale Park
“Pleasant, clean, and pretty elegant without being garish or performative about it, just like much of Mercer Island.”
Great playground with newer equipment- very popular with my 2yo and 5yo. Big flat grass field with paved path around. Skate park. Exercise equipment for grown-ups. I didn’t see any restrooms.
Pleasant, clean, and pretty elegant without being garish or performative about it, just like much of Mercer Island. There is public art displayed and a circular walking loop, along with interesting and engaging playgrounds for children.
This is one of my favorite "local" parks. There is so much going on here for a relatively small area. First, the flat, sunny 1/4 mile loop paved trail is great for walking or kids bike riding.
We absolutely love this park and walk here almost every day. It’s always clean and well-maintained, with the grass in excellent shape. You’ll often see families and groups of people enjoying walks. There’s a great playground towards the back, plus a thrift store nearby.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
