Confirmed from Merrill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Clean park featuring a boat launch plus playgrounds with slides, swings and a merry-go-round.
What runners say about Merrill Park
“Clean restrooms, nice benches along the river to watch the boats launch, and a player for the kids if you have them.”
“Beautiful park with a river running beside it well kept clean love the paved track”
We enjoy breakfast in the "quite park" for it does get busy with children on play equipment! Lovely walking park for early morning seniors, bike trails& boaters coming & going as well. All respectful to the park & all the little baby geese & ducks. That BIG MALE MALLARD is Big Joe, he's a loner but beautiful. 😊 you!
Good place to fish, wade, or walk, has a kid friendly play ground, several park benches to sit by the water

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
