We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Metacomet Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Can be a challenge at times but overall great views and surroundings.”
“Great trail, well marked.”
Great trail. Can be a challenge at times but overall great views and surroundings. Be mindful of the wildlife, I came across a black bear today.
Had trouble finding the trail entrance because there area has 2 entrances to talcott mountain and another state park . Was all beautiful.
it was a nice trail lots of rocks under leaves so need to be mindful of that, right now some of the trails a very muddy and we did encounter a black bear actually my husband did i didn't after he told me i turned right around and got out of there lol but i had a wonderful day walking this trail
This is the intersection of the Metacomet Trail with route 185. Great alternative trail to go to the Heublein Tower.
