Confirmed from Talcott Mountain State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Vast park featuring miles of trails, varied wildlife & a 165-ft. tower offering panoramic views.
What runners say about Talcott Mountain State Park
“After that, there is an overlook where you'd see some other beautiful views and parts you may want to keep exploring.”
If you are here for the hike, you will definitely love the 40-45 minutes walk to the Heublein tower. First half mile is steep and the next 1.5 miles is flat with amazing hilltop views. Quick important informations before you go- 1. Outhouse toilet is there at the beginning of the trail but it smells really bad.
Went here for part of a date/anniversary/adventure. Parking on the side of the road. The hike on the gravel trail was pretty steep on the beginning but leveled out to some amazing and breathtaking views.
Very nice hike! A bit steep at first but there's a great view all throughout the hike looking over the mountain. The tower was cool especially if you're a history geek! I personally think the view is way better when you're outside than inside the tower.
A park with a spectacular view! Talcott Mountain State Park is a 574-acre park located in Simsbury. Parking was spacious. The trail to the Heublein Tower is 1.25-miles long. The Tower can be seen from various parts of the state. It's a beautiful, white, 165-foot high tower with 360 degrees view.
