Confirmed from Micco Scrub Sanctuary's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Micco Scrub Sanctuary

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (52 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Other than that the place is beautiful, preserved scrub lands, with lots and lots of wildlife.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Nice place to walk shaded in most of the Trail.”

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“There are lots of wildlife and well marked trails.”

Nice trail for a long hike in a forest like scenery. Just need to be careful while sticking to the red trail to not wander into the white fire break trail by mistake. That’s where water is logged the most usually and is not actually part of the trail. But a great location for an outdoor hike.

What a beautiful spot. The trail was quite mucky, and even underwater in more than one place. I saw the wild boar mentioned by the other reviewer, as well a spike buck. I wandered north a ways, from the more wooded environ, then easterly into flatwoods dotted with many game trails.

It's a very beautiful place and just what my wife and I were looking for. It's a fairly large area with a hiking trail in the woods. We love hiking among trees, it's relaxing and just beautiful.

mucho scrub in micco scrub sanctuary. nice trail. lots of dragonflies. real secluded so you can't hear traffic, just planes flying over head. i look forward to going back in hopes of seeing an indigo snake. it's also a nice circuit for running.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
