Confirmed from Michael J & Mary Meech MUNGO PARK's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Michael J & Mary Meech MUNGO PARK

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (61 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Great facility for gatherings in a beautiful park!”

Love walking the steep former golf cart paths. Two Beautiful bridges over babbling streams. Mostly paved. It's springtime and all is in bloom. Trail we took was well trimmed back! I look forward to walking this trail again in the future! ❤

★★★★★ — Marie , Apr 2022

Great use of an existing asset. Fun to walk the old golf course, plenty of hills to get your heart pumping.

★★★★★ — Ben , Sep 2023

Mungo park is on the opposite end of the spectrum as Saluda Shoals as far as irmo parks go. No bathrooms, no benches, no trashcans, the trail is absolutely not ADA compliant (it’s the old golf course that was laid at least 30 years ago), no tree cover, no water fountains.

★★★★★ — Melissa , Feb 2025

We love walking there It's a lovely time to comune with nature and a good workout. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Mungo for sharing with us. Respectfully submitted, Brenda and Bob Foss Lexington

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

⛰️ Hills / elevation 11 mentions

“I added my elevation chart - that’s two miles out and back on the same trail.”
