Confirmed from Millers Footbridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil outdoor area featuring a dam and hiking trails with scenic views of the water.
What runners say about Millers Footbridge
“If there's a more beautiful place in the area I don't know where it is.”
“It is mostly covered by forest giving shade and you can find swim outs, fishing, and even preserved or ruin historic elements along the way.”
Millers Footbridge or Dam 5 along the C&O canal is a great place to explore, relax or exercise around nature. We road our bikes about 6mi to Fort Frederick from this location. The trail isn't always manicured and does have debris, rocks, mud but otherwise is very enjoyable by foot or bike.
Perfect start for a walk. Beautiful day, beautiful site! We parked our car here and walked on the maintained path. Easiest path for walking if you are looking for a place to start an exercise regiment.
Great place to visit during different sessons of the year. Also a perfect place to take a hike or start a bike ride on the C&O Canal from. About 2.5 miles to Snyders Landing west and 7.25 miles to the C&O canal headquarters and refurbished aquaduct at Williamsport Maryland.
Great trail! Went here spur of the moment and really enjoyed the walk. Lots to see and very dog friendly. We encountered a lot of bikers and the path was always wide enough that it never caused an issue. Would like to come back and bike it myself one day.
