Confirmed from Milwaukee River Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice paths to walk that aren't too intimidating. My daughter and I enjoyed our winter trek by the river/creek that runs through the park. Very peaceful

Gorgeous park. If you've never been, please go you'll enjoy it! This park is clean and well kept. Althought some of the holes are a little short the disc golf course provided a nice challenge! Well shaded with large trees. Many walking paths even a river walk under the beer garden.

This is a peaceful and often overlooked park. I think most people pass by without realizing it is a park? And the park has a lot to offer if you want to relax, suntan, have a picnic, go fishing, cool off by the river or watch birds. Its also right next to the oak leaf trail too!

★★★★★ — Sarah , May 2021

Easily one of the busiest trails we visited recently The Milwaukee River Greenway in Estabrook Park has a great location central to Whitefish Bay, Shorewood, Glendale and Milwaukees Northeast side.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
