Confirmed from Mineral Point Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Mineral Point Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (15 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“5 hours mix of ascending and descending, not flat ground, it takes you down to lake level, beautiful scenery, and a great work out!”

Great hike, the last couple miles to trailhead is dirt and muddy and if you don’t have 4wd you may get stuck. we did the trail 82, the signage isn’t great but it’s your second right there’s a sign for trail 82, about 2.

We arrived at 11am on a Sunday after the All Trails directions took us left instead of right at the campsite junction. Head to the campsite, it’s rocky so watch out, and take a left at the “t” in the road. We were the only ones there abs had a blast with our two dogs.

Omg! I have been missing this trail for all these years. It’s a must do. So beautiful!

★★★★★ — Amanda , Sep 2019

Nice little hike. It was very buggy when we went, but overall a nice hike. There was the nicest dog at the water point. Saw lots of bikers and a few other hikers.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
