Confirmed from Mohawk River Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“The Mohawk River Trail is an absolutely stunning place to stop as you're making your way through Rome.”

Beyond beautiful. So much to see. Really makes Rome what Rome is. The nature. The ability to enjoy nature. They have glow in the dark pebbles and it’s not that bad in distance. A nice easy walk for anyone with plenty of space on the trail. Would recommend to those who visit Rome and the weather is in decent condition.

The Mowhawk River Trail is my favorite trail to ride my bike in Rome. Good hills and long trails. Just gotta be courteous to other people and know that there are others on the trail. I often use the trails as a means to get from downtown to mvcc. Easy access to Floyd Avenue.

The Mohawk River Trail is an absolutely stunning place to stop as you're making your way through Rome. I have walked this trail up and down, still, I love it immensely. The city is continuing to update the trail and it's amazing to see.

I love waking down the paved trail they the woods. It's the security of knowing I'm not gonna fall and break an ankle AND the beauty of the woods and River

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
