Confirmed from Moncus Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling park featuring a playground and splash pad, tree houses, walking paths and a lake.

“There is a small water park, a treehouse with lots of shaded areas, a good amount of activities in the park, snocones, a vending machine, hiking trails, and more.”
“Our whole family loves to go on nature walks, attend the community events, play on the solash pad and the extensive playground, plus the treehouse is humongous for all ages!”
Such a wonderful park. I always enjoy my time there. There is a little of something for everyone. Great playground area with the splash pad included, tree house, paved trails, dog park, and Saturday Farmer's Market, etc. By far, my favorite is Lake Reaux, which sits in the middle of the park.
This is one of our favorite places to go in Lafayette!! Our whole family loves to go on nature walks, attend the community events, play on the solash pad and the extensive playground, plus the treehouse is humongous for all ages!!
I never miss our local farmers market on Saturday mornings 8-12 if I’m in town! The park is clean and is a full mile lap if you take the outer trail, but also has the option to go in the back through the woods. In the Spring, the wildflower preserve blooms and is absolutely stunning!
Great park in Lafayette! We went on the weekend when they had a market happening up the hill so it made for a more enjoyable day. There is a small water park, a treehouse with lots of shaded areas, a good amount of activities in the park, snocones, a vending machine, hiking trails, and more.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
