Confirmed from Monnish Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“It provided a much-needed break in a beautiful setting, perfect for both kids and families alike.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Really nice park, lots of shade and swings for small children and little bigger kids also”

We recently drove to Tuscaloosa, about an hour and a half from our home, for doctor’s appointments, bringing along our two-year-old grandson. Knowing that the appointments would be long for him, we made sure to stop at Monnish Park afterward, which we spotted from the road.

Beware of ants! My child accidentally walked into an ant hill near the playground/picnic shelter area and her feet were covered with ants. Other than that, nice park. Great smells coming from the bakery across the street.

Love to walk early in the morning sometime my knees hurt but it's never crowded so I go slow as I want,an even though I can't eat it the bread smells delicious coming from the bakery

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
