Confirmed from Queen City Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
City park featuring a walking trail, picnic tables, a library, and a museum.
What runners say about Queen City Park
“I love to go through here on my run routes.”
It's a beautifully scenic park offering lovely paths and bridges along the Black Warrior River with playgrounds, benches, picnic tables. Walkers and joggers and dog lovers abound. Around Christmas one can see the Tinsel Trail, a wonderful display of Christmas Trees decorated by local businesses.
I love this park! It is right behind the library so you can walk right over if you have book to read and walk up the path, it is kind of small, it is mostly a little trail that goes up a steep hill. But steep hill are something you are just going to have to get used to in Tuscaloosa. Just hills in general.
Lovely little public park with woodland paths. There are a couple picnic tables. I didn't realize until visiting recently that the Museum is part of the Queen City Park grounds. There is a big stretch of space for kids to run where the pool used to be. Nice place to walk dogs on leashes.
A great little park tucked in behind the library. There isn't much too it, but it does have a few spots to sit. I love to go through here on my run routes. Be careful, because the park isn't lit at night, and footing can be a bit treacherous. However, it beats running on the side of the road.

“Best to park in the library parking lot and trudge back up the hill, you will definitely get your exercise in for the day!”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
