Confirmed from Montgomery Pleasure Ground Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Montgomery Pleasure Ground Park
“The playground area is a little sunny and urbany, the river area next to the lake is very cozy and feels like I'm in a peaceful garden”
Awesome park. Playgrounds, grassy volley ball court, basketball, tennis, baseball field? Hike & bike trails, river stream, dog park and more. Something for everyone to enjoy. Photos are of the river stream area of the park. Serene nature. Just what I needed. 🙂
It is a beautiful park. Great place to go on an easy hike, have lunch and read a book by the river.
This place is a treasure! So fortunate I've got to take walks here for years! It's a gem of the Hudson Valley actually. No other towns have a thing like this. It's always clean, goes right to the river, huge picnic pavilion right there, and it always feels safe.
I love running in this park, good paved trails and hilly, gives me a good workout without going too far. 2 miles gives me what I need😅

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
