Confirmed from Winding Hills County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“I didn't stay in this camp site, but I visited the camping ground here, it's so quiet and privacy, had panic tables and charcoal grill s too.”

Always an amazing experience at winding hills when camping. The ranger was super nice and checked us in for the evening. We had an electric hookup spot so it was $35 for one night- FYI- there are no full hookup spots at this campground.

Expensive campground for out of state visitors at around $40, but I got a really sweet spot in October as the season wound down. Last year I was able to enjoy a campfire in the rain! Magical. I wonder what happened to the swan. It wasn’t there this year. Hope it didn’t die and instead flew off to find love again.

Such a great place if you want to go camping for the first time. There are plenty of public restrooms and they are kept clean. The campers are friendly and the campsites are close together. The employees are constantly driving around to make sure everything is okay. Ou feel safe.

Today is not a very pretty day but found myself with a few minutes unexpectedly sooo...short walk. There are a variety of trails here. All are nicely groomed and of moderate level. The walk around the lake is pretty any day but its still a bit muddy yet. Watch for snakes by the bridge, they love it over there.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
