Super awesome place for hiking with family and friends. Trails are super nice with lots of trees. Bring plenty of water if you are hiking on hot sunny day. The staging area has decent number of parking spots, restroom and drinking water. Trails are not super steep so it should be manageable.
Beautiful spring time hiking with dog friendly trails. Wildflowers are in full bloom and there is a great variety of both narrow trails that follow a stream as well as wide open trails through rolling fields.
This is specifically for the backpacking camp (I couldn’t find a good review of it) - From the staging area it was about a 2.5 mile hike in on the Clyma trail with quite a bit of down hill. The hike back out was tougher.
A terrific place to hike in the shadow of Mt Diablo, this is probably my favorite of the east bay regional parks. If you visit in the winter or spring you'll see lush green hills and full streams running down into the gultches asfl around the park.
