Confirmed from San Ramon Hidden Valley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about San Ramon Hidden Valley Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (150 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“The baseball field is well maintained and little league games are played here.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“There are couple of trailheads around the park, which lead to moderately strenuous hikes with great views.”

This is a small park in San Ramon, one of the 18 parks the new Windermere area boasts. There are couple of trailheads around the park, which lead to moderately strenuous hikes with great views. The park has a few benches and a great baseball diamond. You may see junior games and practices being held here.

★★★★☆ — Gaurang , Dec 2020

A beautiful park in every season. It's a wonderful place for a peaceful walk, and I love bringing my dog here. There are plenty of trails and open spaces to enjoy, making it a great spot to relax, get some exercise, or go for a run. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spend time outdoors.

Similar to the "Hiking Trail" by the Dougherty Hills Dog Park, there is a short path from the park that leads into the rolling hills in San Ramon. Cows may be on the path and you can walk quite some distance. Will return and try the other trails as well.

★★★★☆ — Mark , Nov 2022

One of my favorite parks in San Ramon. Surrounded by hills on 3 sides. When it is green and foggy, reminds me of Switzerland. Perfect for morning, afternoon or evening walk. Also it's never crowded and has grills and bunch of benches.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 18 mentions

“There are so many great things - the jungle gym structure, the views of the hills and the valley (which I guess would be hidden), the fact that it’s got a nice open space.”
